Drama Club Friends

We first met Javana and Katrina at a workshop we did for their drama club at Milton High in 2013.  We saw them again at Celebrate Milton!, an annual outdoor community festival held behind Pierce Middle School.

Hi Javana and Katrina, can you tell us why you like doing theater, why you think drama is fun?

K: It gives people a chance to live someone else’s life.

J:  I love Drama Club because it’s a place where I can freely express myself and I can be with other people who enjoy drama.

What is something you’ve never done that you hope to do?

K: Go to a Broadway show!

J:  Sing in a musical.

Do you have advice for future high schooler’s?

K: Working hard equates to success.

J: I advise anyone to go do what you want to do. Also try things that may seem out of your comfort zone.

What does the phrase “I am an American” mean to you?

K: It means unity (and diversity).  It also means freedom to live life and prosper as you see fit.

J: It means that I am a citizen of the United States of America.  It means that I have freedom.
