Milton, LA

Smoked sausage from Nu Nuu’s…. the bridge over the Vermillian… crawfish….
…working off shore… solar panels in the back yard…lemon meringue pie.

In February 2013, we knocked on the door of Doug and Sue Duhon’s home in Milton, LA. Lisa’s cousin-in-law’s grandmother lived in Milton, and she had gathered a group of folks together to meet and talk with us. We brought a King Cake, someone else had brought cookies, and our hostess had made one of her famous Lemon Meringue Pies. The conversation that day took us back through hundreds of years of Milton history.

From there, we discovered Milton, LA in these ways…

PearlDamour is working with libraries in each Milton so that kids coming in for activity hours can interact with the project before it gets to their towns. Milton, LA recently had an activity hour that focused on clouds and stars. Check it out!
